A Brief History
In 1909, the Boy Scouts movement began in England by Lord Robert Baden-Powell, with Guyana among its first members. Troop 1 was initiated by Sergeant Major Manly, and later split, with one branch becoming Saints Scouts under Fr. Alban Robinson S.J in 1911. The troop actively engaged in various scouting activities, winning competitions and rendering crucial assistance during the Cathedral fire in 1913.
Fr. Robinson's departure led to Fr. Besant taking over, fostering the Troop's growth, and achieving notable successes. After a hiatus, Troop 25 was revived in 1959 under Mr. Harold Wong's leadership, marking a renewed era of scouting at St. Stanislaus College.
