Venturer Scouts
Who Are They?
Venturer Scouts, an integral part of the Scouting movement, caters to young people aged fifteen to eighteen through a co-ed program. Centered on personal growth, leadership development, and outdoor adventure, Venturer Scouts actively participate in planning and organizing their activities, taking responsibility for their own development.
What do they do?
Venturer Scouts engage in challenging and fun activities tailored to individual interests, focusing on advanced skills and larger team initiatives. Backpacking expeditions, canoe trips, survival camping, orienteering, and raft building constitute ventures that test boundaries, fostering resourcefulness, resilience, teamwork, and the ability to plan and execute complex tasks. The program emphasizes personal reflection, goal-setting, and values development, promoting mindfulness, meditation, public speaking, and creative arts.
Scout Safety
Venturer Scout safety is comprehensive, encompassing physical, emotional, and psychological well-being. Rigorous safety measures include supervision during challenging expeditions and outdoor activities, leadership training for effective teamwork, and the development of skills in first aid, navigation, outdoor survival, and backwoodsman cooking. The program instills resilience and resourcefulness, creating a secure environment where Venturer Scouts can explore, learn, and contribute to their communities while actively shaping their own personal growth
